Ovulation Calendar For Conceiving a Girl - Why There's a More Reliable Way to Get a Girl Baby

I have a blog that is dedicated to helping couples conceive a girl.  Someone contacted me through it and suggested that I include an "ovulation calendar for conceiving a girl." I responded by explaining why I don't think these calendars are the best, or most reliable tool.  In this article, I'll explain why I don't think they work as well as some other methods and I'll tell you what I think will work much better to get you the daughter that you want.

How Ovulation Calendars Are Supposed To Help You Conceive A Girl:  These calendars typically work like this. Usually, you can either do them online or on a paper calendar. You note the days of your menstruation from one month to the next. This will tell you how long (how many days) your menstrual cycle lasts.  If you didn't care whether you had a boy or a girl baby,  you'd typically  conceive mid cycle - usually around day 14.  There is no magic to this method.  It is just guessing that at the mid point in your cycle, you are the most fertile.  However, couples who want to conceive a girl will want to conceive during the front end of this window (three days prior to ovulation) because the girl sperm are long lived and the boy sperm are not.

This makes sense on the surface, but here's the problem.  Not all women conceive mid cycle and not all women conceive on the same day every cycle.  I tried this method but nothing was happening.  So, I finally broke down and purchased a saliva ovulation predictor. Using it, I could literally see the changes which would indicate that ovulation was on it's way. I was shocked as I approached day 14 and it showed nothing.  I panicked for awhile, thinking I wasn't ovulating at all, but eventually saw that I was ovulating on day twenty on one month and on day 22 on another.  So I likely would not have been successful in getting pregnant using the calendar method because I would've been about a week early and even girl sperm can not live that long.  Even if you are only a few days late or early, this can seriously effect which gender you end up getting.

Methods That Are Far Superior To Ovulation Calendars For Conceiving A Girl Baby:  There are other methods to predict your ovulation if you want a girl. Examples are basal temperature, cervical mucus evaluation, and ovulation predictors.  I believe that most of these leave too much to chance.  Your temperature can go up on down for reasons other than ovulation. Your cervical mucus can change for reasons other than ovulation too.  Ovulation predictors are among the only methods that take the guesswork out of the equation.  I like saliva because you don't have to use first morning urine and can keep reusing them, but both urine and saliva are much better than the old fashioned methods that require you to guess without seeing a yes or no answer (at least in terms of reliability). Because if you are dead set on having a girl, if you conceive even a few days late, you'll greatly up your odds to get a boy.

Other Things That Will Help You In Conceiving A Girl:  Correctly timing ovulation is very important on your quest for a daughter, but to have the best odds, you shouldn't stop there.  Natural gender selection for a daughter is based on the fact that the boy sperm are weak and short lived and there are other ways to take advantage of this.

You can also use sexual / intercourse positions that are shallow because this places the sperm far away from the egg, ensuring the boy sperm have a longer time to live (which is difficult for them) before they reach their long destination.

You should also raise your acidity and PH because again, this will weaken and encourage the boy sperm to die off.  You can do this by tweaking your diet to include highly acidic foods or by douching.  An easy way to approach this is to test your PH at the beginning of this process to tell you how aggressive you'll need to be (Many women will need to both diet and douche, especially if they want quicker results).  And, you can continue to test as you make these changes so that there is no mystery as to where you are trending and when you are ready.

The real key in conceiving a daughter is to be very precise in all of these steps.  Don't guess or hope for the best.  Use the tools that are widely available and inexpensive to make

Pursuing the Right Diet

Want to Have a Baby Girl? Here's Some Tips to Help

Yesterday, I received an email from a very nice woman who said: "I want to have a baby girl, but what do I need to do to make this happen? What is the easiest, quickest way?"  This question doesn't have a one word answer, but hopefully, I can answer this in simple terms pretty quickly, which I will do in this article.

What, Exactly, Is Required To Conceive A Girl Baby?:  In the simplest terms, to get a daughter, what needs to happen is that an X chromosome in the sperm provided by your partner fertilizes the egg first.  Male sperm contains both X and Y chromosomes.  If a Y fertilizes the egg first, you'd get a boy baby and the opposite is true if an X wins out.  So, the very simple goal if you want a female baby is that you must increase the odds that the X sperm will win this conception race.

If this sounds like a game of luck or chance, it doesn't have to be. To manipulate the odds, you need to understand a little bit about how these X guys act.  Luckily, they are extremely resilient and are the much stronger of the two.  They live longer and it takes more to weaken or deteriorate them.  However, they are also the slowest of the two.  But, there are some things you can do to downplay their slowness while bumping up and taking advantage of their strength.

The Steps To Conceiving A Girl:  So let's get to it, then.  The first way that you can help to make sure the girl sperm reaches the egg first is to time your conception correctly.  The Y (male) sperm can not live for long, so you want to conceive early to give them time to have exited the race before the egg is ready.  This leaves your reproductive track having more female possibilities than male ones. To be specific, you should shoot for 3-4 days before the egg's actual release.  You can gage this by using an extremely accurate ovulation predictor.  I like to suggest the saliva variety, as I find them superior to the urine models, but use whatever you are comfortable with.

The second part of the equation is how you have intercourse.  Again, you are trying to make it very hard for the Y chromosomes to reach the egg finish line.  Shallow penetration obviously puts more distance between both places.  Deep penetration favors a boy conception, so use care on the actual day you are trying to conceive.

Finally, the final roadblock you can put up for the boy producing sperm is raising your PH and acidity.  A high PH is too hostile of an environment for them.  If you wanted a son, you would lower your PH.  But, for a girl, you want to raise it.  You can see where you stand going in by using a PH test strip (available at most health food store on or the Internet.)  Most people will need to go up from their natural level.  You accomplish this in two ways.  You can consume a high PH diet or you can douche, or both.  I know that this may seem to be a chore, but it is only for a short while until you hit the right level and the pay off lasts a lifetime.  There are lists of acidic foods and how-tos for douching that can make this a bit easier.

So, that's the short answer.  Look at this is a three step plan.  First, you find out when you ovulate. Then, plan to conceive three days before this target.  Meanwhile, address your PH.  And, when you are ready, you use the sexual or intercourse positions that favor your baby girl.

During the first half of the first trimester, babies - destined to be girl or boy alike - have almost the same sexual equipment called the "genital duct." Both can make either a female or male organ. It starts as three tiny bumps in between the legs. The major change becomes visible on the later part of the first trimester. Those destined to become a boy ( with one X and one Y chromosome) produces the male hormone called testosterone which allows the bump to develop male sexual organs. This bump begin to elongate to form the penis and the two other bumps on the side form the scrotum. The testicles start to develop right inside the lower part of the abdomen and descends into their permanent place in the scrotum either before or after birth.

The testicles, which are surrounded by fluid in a separate compartment, can be detected on 2D diagram and image by the 36th week.

Babies with two X chromosomes are girls. If there is no testosterone, the bump in the middle of the legs remain very small and the ones on either sides start to fold to form the labia. The labia surrounds the entrance to the vagina. Unlike the scrotum, the labia do not fuse together and instead of testicle formation in the lower abdomen, baby girl develops ovaries which stay within her pelvis permanently.

Other soon-to-be parents resort to answering baby quizzes or computing the odds through baby gender calculators. If you intend to use either of these, keep in mind that these are not official ways to predict baby gender. In order for you to find out whether it's a boy or a girl, you need to have an ultrasound by your 5th month. The gender result around this time is most likely to be accurate than any other baby gender predictor hint or quiz.
